  • Chapter Executives Conference 2013

    Five undergraduates took the trip to Memphis, TN for the 2013 CEC.  The members were Eric Udvari, Andrew Baccaro, Hayden Anderson, Jordan King, and Jack Padden.  Staff members/Gamma Delta alums Josh Schafer and Ray Holmgren accompanied the undergraduates to HQ.
     


    PIKE University November 16-18, 2012- Richmond, VA

    Eleven gentlmen represented the Gamma Delta Chapter in Richmond, VA for their semesterly PIKE University leadership summit.  Also in attendance was Regional President Brent Seebohm and past SMC Josh Schafer, along with CEO Justin Buck.  Gamma Delta was awarded the Man Miles award for, in total, they traveled around 23,000 miles one way.
     


    Alumni Edmund Marquez Recognized

    On Saturday, November 17, 2012 Brother Edmund Marquez was recognized for his professional and charitable leadership in the community of Tucson.  Edmund has worked zealously through his membership on charitable boards and civic volunteer work, including the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Pima Community College Foundation, and his appointments to serve on the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in Washington, D.C.
     


    Senator Jon Kyl Visits Drachman

    On Wednesday, October 24, 2012 Brother Senator Jon Kyl visited the Drachman chapter house for just under an hour.  He was given a tour of the house with current SMC Charles Eisner and Regional President Brent Seebohm.  Brother Coach Lute Olson also was in attendance and both Brother Kyl and Olson addressed the chapter in the courtyard.  Brother Senator Kyl reminded our gentlemen to be true to ourselves and serve our obligation to lead.  As recognition of Brother Senator Kyl's accomplishments, SMC Eisner officially named room #8 after Senator Kyl.  The room will be renovated over this upcoming winter break.
     


    CATwalk Photo Shoot

    SMC Charles Eisner ('10) flew out to San Diego with Brothers Brent Seebohm ('96) and Coach Lute Olson ('12) to shoot promotional footage at Steve Kerr's house in San Diego.  The three met up with Brothers Mike Nelson, Brian Wilson, and Bram Govaars.  Also in attendace was Kathy Nelson, Mike's wife and Gamma Delta's Parents Club leader.  The material will be used over the next two months on air and on television to promote the upcoming CATwalk, which will be held Saturday, December 1st.

    The Gamma Delta Chapter was rewarded by Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity for their strong representation of PIKE values -- Scholars, Leaders, Athletes and Gentlemen -- with the Smythe Trophy, awarded to the top 5% of chapters nationally. The chapter was also recognized as tops in Recruitment, On Campus Involvement, and PIKE University attendance, making the total of awards they won 10.   This is the 7th time the chapter has received the Smythe award in their history, and the 2nd consecutive award. Twenty-three gentlemen represented the Gamma Delta Chapter by making the trip to Denver.
     
    Congratulations to all the members, leaders, alumni, volunteers and advisors who have invested in these young men, making their fraternity experience such a special one.
     

    Founders Day Banquet Huge Success

     

    On March 3rd, 2012, The Pi Kappa Alpha actives, along with their Moms and fellow Alumni, packed the Double Tree Hotel for a night of Awards and Recognition. Our new members and their family members were in attendance, as well.  Congratulations was given to Lute Olson for his recent initiation into our bonds, and Mom's were shown gratitude for all that they have done for this fraternity. The banquet was a huge success, with the over 360 guests in attendance making it the largest Gamma Delta Founder's Day Banquet ever.

     


     

    3 Annual Pike Dreamgirl Competition

     

    We are proud to introduce the winners of our 3rd Annual Pike Dreamgirl Competition. This competition honors women who are not only beautiful, but more importantly, inculcate values of a mature and successful woman: integrity, intelligence, involvement and sincerity. Out of hundreds of applicants, these women best displayed these characteristics and were chosen as the top 12.

     

    We are proud to announce that Audrey Lewter of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority is the winner of the 2012 Pi Kappa Alpha Dreamgirl Competition!

     She even found time to help the chapter during their International Work Day!


    3rd Annual Pike Firefighters Challenge

     

    Congratulations to this year's Pike Firefighters Challenge Winners: Alpha Phi

     

    They, along with nine other participating sororities, helped PIKE break its previous record for philanthropy money raised for PFC.  The new record is just around $7,000! (February '12)

    The 2011 Pike Academy

     

    This summer, the men of Gamma Delta sent 13 undergraduate leaders to the 2011 Pi Kappa Alpha Academy in Memphis, TN. The chapter was awarded with the coveted Robert Adger Smythe Award, given to the top 5% of all Pike Chapters in North America. It is the first time since 1996 that Gamma Delta has received a Smythe award!  Our chapter also brought home 9 other awards including the Raymond L. Orians Excellence Award given to the top 20% of all Pike Chapters in North America.
